ziggy stardust [1972] A true classic in every sense of the word. Backdrop to the arrival of this LP for myself was the appauling events of ‘’Bloody Sunday’’. I vividly remember sitting with my family as the body count rose on the tv. I distinctly remember thinking the army cant really be shooting unarmed [mainly teenage] civil rights protesters but alas they were and so armed resistance was born. Anyway apparently there’s a star man waiting in the sky he would like to come and meet us but will probably hold off until we’ve had our fill of destroying each other.
