2012 beckons!

Happy New Year to All! I'm on me own and intend to do very little other than an 8 mile walk between 11pm and 1am. That's the plan anyway it gives me a chance to take stock and maybe make a few small plans for next year [like for gods sake find a woman]. Main resolutions will be to pick up my AA commitments and to leave my ridiculous job!

Sean Nos Nua [The New Old Style]

A new leader has been drafted in to help ease the nuclear tension in the once mighty North London. This move follows the abdication in the summer of previous leader now believed to be operating for some second rate outfit on the Costa Del Crime. This bunch of self confessed "Reds" hope to overcome years of ill fortune including a well documented famine which left 1,000's dead of boredom and a mass exodus to the hated next door neighbours!

Font of all Knowledge

As i have a lot of free time at the moment i have been hitting a good few AA meetings. Was there this afternoon and it back fired big time got asked to do the chair [speak for 30 mins] and after was asked to chair 3 more meetings over the next week [surely the main reason i go there is to avoid commitment]. After rehashing other peoples knowledge and answering numerous questions i didnt have answers to it dawned on me that i was in the right place and need to get back in service [insight of an obvious nature]!

Got My Words Worth!

Seen there was a Sales related Slaying in London on Boxing Day but have not let that stop me venturing out at least as far as a Book Shop Sale [better class of customer for some reason?]. Anyway i picked up Steven Kings JFK book and a book by a guy called Paul Hoffman called "The Left Hand Of God" and a few others. Oh yes and a Diary i may be planning to be sociable next year. Anyway the lot cost £18 and i'm off to Starbucks for a good read and i do hope its not crammed with screaming little miracles that would not be fun!

Glory Be!

That has got to be the smoothest Christmas i ever had with not an angry word said or punch thrown. My 2 boys that live with me [Brendan and Declan] are off tomorrow to Tralee Co. Kerry to stay with their Mum for a while and also spend time with my other son [Pearce] who's lives there all year round. So i get the chance to chill out and figure out what to do with myself in the New Year. Its got to be a new job as top priority as i can't be bothered turning up for the one i have!

Cited by the likes of Greenday as major influences SLF although often forced to live in the shadow of the Clash where a much grittier outfit with Jack Burns vocals and tight riffs galore. All thrown together for this live set and its very good indeed [believe me i've seen them in action]!

rutles - rutles rehearsals [bootleg] [320]

It must have been a lot easier to take the piss out of the Beatles in 1978 especially with Punk kicking off all around but this particular Parody has stood the test of time. I reckon the main things that this Rutles [aka Prefab Four] collection of pre Tour rehearsals has going for it is that it's very well crafted [mainly by Eric Idle and Neil Innes] and very very very funny!

Day 8 Operation Enduring Freedom

Mission accomplished and sick note delivered to morons at head office. So i guess Christmas and New Year are taken care of courtesy of the Boss. Also a point to remember is that you are entitled to take outstanding Leave for this year and carry it over to next year. So lots of Holiday time next year for me. Anyway enough celebration i am in the clear for 4 weeks [at least] and could do worse than have a brief look around for another job [just in case]. Happy Holiday and mines just started!

Debut album from a true genius. This man brought the concept of Punk and Poetry to the masses. Loads of great lyrics and humour here. Day 6 Final Preparations

Got a bit of a spanner thrown in the works by the Union today saying that i could not recieve Legal Support for the first 13 weeks of membership. Means that i will have to swerve work for at least 13 weeks which should still be achievable as i've been working overtime [hahaha] on insuring Dr's cooperation. Before i left work i emailed myself  [forward planning] all documents [plus scanned docs and photos] relating to my cause and have printed a few today. Tomorrow at my Dr's appointment i will flourish and scatter about his surgery some of this meaningless crap and secure my liberation for the forseeable future [at least thats the plan]. Noticed one of my mentors has died Kim Jong il a blow [to him at least] for sure but the struggle continues. It looks like all the individualists [war criminals to some] have now all been eliminated and the Suits have inherited the earth!

gravy train - ballad of a peaceful man [256]

Great album with the added feature of having one side devoted to ballads and the other to rock songs [surely this is a CD?]. Released in 1971 and by far their greatest work i only got turned on to it by a friend in 1999. I would say it aged very well!
