big country - crossing

Debut album from 1983 and a fine addition to the celtic rock genre. Quality is the best way to describe this album. For the record front man Stuart Adamson [formerly of the skids] sadly was found dead in 2001 in a hotel room and this album is a great reminder of what we lost with his tragic death.

etta james - burnin down the house

Great live album by one of the most tremendous voices in music. This lady has been given awards and respect from almost all genres from rock to soul but i like to think of her primarily as a blues singer. I do love the blues.

amen - we have come for your parents

I may very well have the world upside down but i have been trying hard to pass this fantastic album on to my children. Amen have been voted Overall Best Band in the World and Best Live Band in the World by the knowledgeable readers of Metal Hammer. "The Price Of Reality" and "Too Hard to Be Free" are really great rousing hardcore anthems. It may well be "Too Hard to Be Free" but lets continue the struggle just in case its possible!

marmalade - reflections of the marmalade

After thankfully changing their name from the Gaylords  to the Marmalade they had a successful career in the late 60's and early 70's. Two million selling singles by the band were the beatles moment of writers block "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and their own excellent "Reflections Of My Life". They split in 1976 and coincidently their last single was aptly entitled "Falling Apart at The Seams"!

prong - cleansing

As you may now have guessed i like all sorts of music including Prongs "Cleansing " from 1994. Having spend most of my life on a hair trigger the sentiment "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" sounds reasonable to me. Also this album had two members of Killing Joke on the books when this was made so its quality.
