mudhoney - five dollar bob's mock cooter stew EP

Bit of a collectors item from back in the day [1995] offering for your Listening Pleasure Seven exclusive or at least rare tracks. Its either a mix of Grunge and Country [sounds great to me] or as one Critic wrote "a dull, dopey mishmash of suburban-boy backwoodsiness" the choice is all yours. Finally i love strange covers and this qualifies with ease, when i look at the cover i wonder just how many people the unfortunate boy pictured managed to kill before being cornered in his bone filled basement and finally rounded up!

  1. "In the Blood" – 3:08
  2. "No Song III" – 4:11
  3. "Between Me & You Kid" – 3:38
  4. "Six Two One" – 2:35
  5. "Make It Now Again" – 4:35
  6. "Deception Pass" – 2:52
  7. "Underide" – 2:08

1989 and the first full length album by these Grunge mainstays it's full of angst as some of the titles will suggest and contains for me their finest moments "Here Comes Sickness", "Flat Out Fucked " and their instrumental cover of Blue Cheers "Magnolia Caboose Babyfinger". Plus it was released on yhe mighty Sub Pop label!

skin yard - inside the eye

Although Sjkin Yard never guite made the leap between their obvious talent and mainstream success their place in music lore is secured by their contribution in 1986 of two songs to the legendary early Grunge Deep Six compilation album. The band for some reason disbanded after the release of this album and just as Grunge was going global in 1993!

love battery - confusion au go go

Although arising from the Seattle Grunge scene in 1989 Love Battery are much
harder to pigeonhole than a lot of their peers. Drawing on various genres including Psychedelic Rock, 60's Garage and a bit of Punk Rock plus some really strong vocals lead to an inevitable joyous listen.

1  Confusion Au Go Go
2  One Small Step
3  Snipe Hunt
4  Corporate Memo
5  Colorblind
6  Get On Da Big Foot
7  Dead Boys

10  Punks Want Rights
11  Transendental Fornication
12  Guilty Of Every Thing
