Rory Gallagher - Live In Europe [320]




Irish Blues Guitar Legend Captured Superbly Live in 1972. Great balance of Music and Fans whoever recorded this new his stuff. A great Collection of Songs but i must say i just love ''Bullfrog Blues'' how all music should sound but sadly doesn't. Rory Gallagher is a much missed Influence in these most Mediocre of Times.

humble pie - street rats [320]


No one in the band had a good tyhing to say about this album especially the way it was produced outside of the bands control. Infact Steve Marriot said that "Street Rats" was a track with me, Ian Wallace and Tim Hinkley playing piano, It was nothing to do with Humble Pie". "Somebody stole the 16-track mix it was intended as the title track for my album". So there you go anyway i like the results!

Long considered a Garage Rock classic this 1966 album is very Bluesy [sounds good to me] and has a lot of Bollox. So many different styles going on here it should sound disastrous but for some reason sounds even better for the variety!

Dion of Dion and the Belmonts fame went on to have a varied solo career with this 1970 release being for me the highlight. Its mainly a Blues LP but their is still traces of his Doo Wop past running through it. "If We Only Have Love" being the stand out track for me!

muddy waters - electric mud

After having his work brought to the wider world by a lot of the 60's bands who cited him as a major influence the Crowned King of the Chicago Blues hit the studio in 1968 and recorded this Psychedelic Masterpiece. Just give a listen to his cover of the Rolling Stones "Let's Spend the Night Together" . This is exactly what Jimi Hendrix's dad would have sounded like!

big mama thornton - original hound dog

Big Mama Thornton was a big mama with an equally big voice. She released the single "Hound Dog" in 1952 selling a staggering 2 million copies several years befor Elvis Presley released his version. Much respected by fellow artists she also wrote "Ball and Chain" which again several years after her single was revamped by Janis Joplin. Oh boy i really do love the blues.
