Holding Out For A Weirdo!

Before starting to Meditate there is a Box for me to put all your Fears and Ailments and General concerns and you do this before the Session begins. Anyhow I always among many other things Lob in being Single as I guess it's not my ideal State. One of the things that prolongs my Singleness is when I hear people talking about thier Trysts for example I have been hearing a Dodgy Chap talking about Finally being in a Loving Relationship. Turns out these Shenanigans are with a Lady who has been around AA for quite a while but is far from Sober. So be a Cynic reading between the lines He's basically Going Out with a Street Drinker so what could possibly go wrong. Oh Yeah and part of his Waffle was that there wasn't going to be any Sex for 6 [Six] Months and I bet that was Her idea....I will get back to you with the outcome Pretty soon.

So Single it remains!

Wilco - Summerteeth

Do like a bit of Americana this was released in 1999 and is not there Finest Hour to much Fiddling with the Dials and not enough Music. Still fine stuff check out other albums ''Being There'' and  ''Mermaid Avenue''. Mermaid Avenue was a collaboration with Billy Bragg.

Psycho Anal-ysis

So Italy beat Germany which means that 2 of the teams that beat Ireland in the Group Stages will be in the final and No Teams from the Groups which contained the Hosts Poland and Ukraine and for good measure England even reached the Semi Final Stage. Conpiracy Theories abound in my Noggin and if this was Deliberate then the chances for Tiny Nations such as Ireland have virtually no chance of making it out of the Group Stages ever again let alone compete in Quarter Finals like the good old days. Enough Soccer I got Paid today and am off to Pay the Bills and sort out Tickets to go to Ireland for a bit!

Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias - Skite

Suspect these where a Bunch of Longhairs taking the rise out of Punk Rock but nevermind they where good musicians with a sense of Humour titles like ''Snuffin' In A Babylon [All The People Are Droppin' Like Flies], ''Gobbin on Life'', "Heads Down No Nonsense Mindless Boogie" and the Deep Emotion of ''Kill'' and my Personal Favourite ''Fuck You''!

AA Campus!

Staggered up to a Lunch Time meeting as usual the Sun was Blazing and the Meditation on the walk there was Top Drawer but my splendid Mood started to Evaporate on Arrival as there was a lot of construction noise and I couldn't hear the Speaker. The noise may have been a good thing as what I did hear I didn't like and the whole time I very Pretty Woman I don't know kept staring at me, so much in fact that the Guy beside me nudged me and said you’re in there. We both agreed that She was quite Insane and left it at that. The Icing on the Cake came when I got Collared to do the Chair Tonight at another meeting this was achieved by the age old Icebreaker of "are you watching the Football Tonight" to which I replied no. This question 6 months ago would have been answered in the Affirmative, just in case. Anyhow all round I guess it's been a Pretty eventful day so far!

Insane Clown Posse - Great Milenko

Yes indeed it is probably quite Juvenile but i really like it anyway. These guys have a Wicked Sense of Humour on all their albums. On this one from 1995 you get more of a Rock feel with Special Guests such as Alice Cooper and Slash. Released on the Disney label [ha ha] and withdrawn a couple of hours later after complaints from the Southern Baptist Church [Non Spiritual Religious Folk with no Sense of Humour] if this doesnt Cheer you up nothing will!

1. "Intro"   Alice Cooper, Deb Agoli 2:00
2. "Great Milenko"   Insane Clown Posse 1:56

Better Nature!

Blah blah blah blah…. I am also in the process of getting a letter from my doctor who feels that the continued withholding of my entitlement is now a major contributing factor to my slow recovery from Stress and Depression. Finally I have been advised to take legal action if my entitlement continues to be withheld.
This is now the Unholy length’s I am having to go to in order to make sure those Charlatans [not the band silly] pay me my Entitlement. Entitlement a mighty fine Legal Word which i repeated many times throughout my appeal. A word which in my Dictionary means what they Fucking owe me. I rest my case as I’m beginning to feel unclean a bit like a Lawyer..... So it’s off on a long Meandering Meditative Walk for me which should end up outside the Council Offices about 3pm!

Also I heard on the BBC News that some War Criminal is going to be shaking hands with Martin McGuinness later today!

Special Aka - In The Studio

Group Photo!

So maybe I was in shock yesterday but the Key Losing Incident Sunday couldn’t possibly have got much more Surreal, Firstly the other Key Holder did not show up despite being informed that I had lost mine. As we couldn’t get into the Meeting Venue a Transsexual who goes there sometimes and none of us know why suggested that we could use Her/His [delete as appropriate] flat a couple of doors away. So we Trooped up there Myself, Victor/Victoria, An Orangeman [11 months clean] from Glasgow who was Singing some Loyalist Ditty against Bobby Sands to annoy me, A Guy from Dublin [30 days clean] who Bizarrely had been brought by the Harmonious Hun and Taking up the Rear a Doctor who deals in Sexual Dysfunction. The Sharing needless to say was Reflective of this Unholy Mix and Great Fun!

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cosmo's Factory

Fantastic Album released in 1970 every Track is a Classic [says i]. Sadly despite it's excelence this Album also marked the beginning of the end for CCR as tensions between Band Members began to Overtake their obvious Creativity. They left me many Anthems to Sing along to including my favourite CCR Song "Long As I Can See The Light"!

  1. "Ramble Tamble" – 7:09

No Use It's Already Spilt!

Money might be beyond Tight at the moment but I’m thoroughly enjoying the Role of Man of Leisure and have lots of Projects and Plans to keep me busy. Good deal of time has been spent Knocking the Garden into shape so that when Summer finally arrives as it must surely do I’ll be prepared to sit out there among the Candles, Herbs and Pot Plants Soaking up the Rays and having Friends round of an Evening.
Putting a Brave Face on regarding Finances and Insecurity in General with the Daily Long Meditative Walks without doubt being Key to Keeping the Fear from taking over my Life. Anyhow it’s all OK as long as there’s enough in the pocket for A Starbucks everyday as it’s my only Vice at Present but I do hope to have a few more soon!

Good Luck England!

Tonight’s Football has got to be better than last nights Meagre offering, at the very least you could put money on who will get sent off first between Wayne [Head Of An Irishman] Rooney and  Mario [Asshole] Balotelli.
Before that I’ve got to Fess Up to losing the Key to the Church where the NA meeting is this Afternoon. Hope it doesn’t go Pear Shaped and the ask for Money to change the Lock or some such nonsense as I ain’t got a Pot To Piss In just now!

I Want To Break Free!

Truth be told I don't want to be Redeployed by Work and Yesterday hinted that I just wanted to play the Game out to the end. Which would mean being Medically Retired and then I would get down the Benefits Agency like a Bat Out Of Hell and Stake my Claim. the Basic Facts are that I have the Ability to Live on very Little Money and that allows me Tremendous Freedom especially to not bother Working for Assholes and at the moment there doesn't appear to be any other type of Employer out there. All that seems to be happening is an endless round of Cost Cutting [Wages, holidays, Conditions etc etc] and those Implementing the Axing haven't even got the Brain Power to realise there time will come and I doubt bullying will be seen as a Transferable Skill.

My Recipe for Successful Living with or without a Part Time [at the very most] Job is to have no Credit Cards, Nothing on HP, No Overdraft, No Contract Phones, Rental Agreements, Leases, Debts...basically owe nothing. the Rest is Quite Easy.

Learn to Cook and to Enjoy it, grow lot's of Veg, Herbs & Fruit and don't worry if you don't have a Garden or can't afford an Allotment do what I do Grow it on someone else's land [without their knowledge]. Get Seriously into Walking, Yoga and Meditation [do all at once] and Lastly Really Get into Sitting in Starbucks watching the World go by, always with a Good Book and your Ipod!

Wish You Were'nt Here

Just been to see my Bosses at Work about my Redeployment and needless to say it was not a Bundle of Laugh's though they did provide me with a few. First one was the Suggestion that I could be Redeployed to Southend for a moment I thought they had said South Korea as both would be as difficult for me to get to i suppose it didn't matter which. My only Input was to ask if I could bring my Bucket And Spade. Best laugh though was Supplied by my Boss who told me She is being asked to reapply for her Job for £14,000 a year less than she gets now. I had Minimal Input into this situation but did Suggest that she could try going off Sick.

Spent the rest of the Meeting trying to explain Buddist Theories of Detachment and Living a Simple Life with Limited Money but without the Humiliation of having all your rights removed and being a Slave to the System. It may have fallen on Deaf Ears!

Longpigs - Sun Is Often Out [192]

Great Brit Pop Album from 1996 really good catchy tunes. These guys once opened for Radiohead back then. After their decline Richard Hawley embarked on a solo career and I beg anyone who loves good music to listen to any Richard Hawley album especially ''Coles Corner'' and lets not forget this is a quality album which produced 3 Great Singles out of the first 4 tracks let alone the rest!

Mixed Messages!

Meeting was really good last night very strong Message of Recovery from the Speaker and the Response from the Punters was Excellent. Plus the Group Conscience went well and we moved the  Meeting further along the Route of Carrying the Message to the New Man [or Woman]. So all in all a good days work after a Piss Poor start when I nearly Blew my Head Gasket with Fear and Insecurity over the ongoing Black Hole in the Old Finance Department. Anyhow got to Soldier on as there is no Alternative!

Yazoo - BBC Live In London [160]

Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet two Highly Talented Performers met by chance when Clarke left Depeche Mode and needed a Singer for his new material. Tiocfaidh A’r La’

On the War Path again to Fight for my right to Party…Sorry that’s a different Song. What I’m doing is Pursuing my claim for Housing Benefit into the Gates of Insanity and Death as it would appear that every Inbred, Work-shy, Soap Dodger, Political Refugee, Sad Case, Victim Of Circumstance, No Hoper, Salad Dodger, Illegal Immigrant and Educationally Sub Normal Person has a right to HB….except Me. Admittedly I tick most of the above Boxes so am a bit Pissed Off at the Letter I received Today Refusing my claim. This Sorry Saga began on the 4th of April and doesn’t look like Finishing in the Foreseeable Future
Guess it’s time to bring out the Big Guns, namely Mega Meditation this afternoon. This will be Coupled with Throwing a Few Fucks into the Councils Representative up in the Local Library for Good Measure!

Play To The Whistles!

It’s a funny Old Game as Ireland head home from the Euro’s they now have the best Supporters in the World and unfortunately they have no Team Worthy of their Tremendous Loyalty. Whilst on my Travels Yesterday I said to an English Friend Good Luck Tomorrow and he said England wouldn’t need any and I’m sad to say that it’s this Arrogant Attitude that Aids my Enjoyment of watching them Under Achieve and Crashing out and if it’s not tomorrow it will be the Quarter Finals….Please God. Anyway as they know the only Dragons these Chaps have to Fight are Her Indoors. So I doubt I’ll see any more of the matches as they don’t fit in with my Lifestyle just now which really is on the Up and Up and God Help Us I may even get myself a Fledgling Social Life on the go…Who Knows?.... Who Cares?.... I Care you Fine Folks!

Rory Gallagher - Live In Europe [320]

Irish Blues Guitar Legend Captured Superbly Live in 1972. Great balance of Music and Fans whoever recorded this new his stuff. A great Collection of Songs but i must say i just love ''Bullfrog Blues'' how all music should sound but sadly doesn't. Rory Gallagher is a much missed Influence in these most Mediocre of Times.

Worthless Foam From The Mouth!

Was digging through my Albums and got an urge to dig out “To Ramona” a Top Song from the Original by Bob Dylan through Lee Hazlewood, David Gray, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Alan Price and eventually found a Favourite Version by Sinead Lohan. That was all the Sinead Lohan I could find in my Collection so I will be looking for some more Today. Also looking forward to Irelands Match this Evening against Italy and Hope they can restore some Pride to the Nation by giving it the Lash and before Meekly returning home and leaving the Job to Younger Braver Men!

Damien Dempsey - Rocky Road

Thee most Essential listening for Irish Music Fans and all of Humanity has got to be Damien Dempsey a Man who wears his Heart on his Sleeve. This is him in a Reflective Mood delivering a selection of Irish Standards and Rebel Songs all Performed Exquisitely.  If you Die without hearing his song “The Colony” you have never Lived and if you Die without hearing it on His Live At The Olympia Album you My Friend have been Seriously Short Changed my Friend!

Should We Talk About The Weather!

Lost the Bloody Door Key to the Meeting this Afternoon and do hope the other Secretary has hers or I will be Scorned by the good Folks. Anyhow it’s Fathers Day and I will be giving the Old Man a call shortly which can be quite tricky as he has been very silent since my Brother Eamonn went missing and has been added to the Death of my Youngest Brother Brendan many years ago. In fact he refuses to talk about these and many other things Sadly so we’ll be Communicating as best we can within those set Parameters. So it will be a bit of Banter about the Football and Irelands lack of Success and the Weather and Irelands lack of Success in that Competition as well. All I can say is it’s better than no Communication and I wish it was better but it’s not so I’d best get on with it!

Ocean Colour Scene - Moseley Shoals [256]

High quality Stuff from Brit Pop Band who where championed by Oasis before hitting the big time in 1996. This is my favourite Ocean Colour Scene album it's got a lot going for it with great tunes and fine Lyrics.

May The Circle Be Unbroken!

I must be rising above the Physical Plane and becoming an Eternal Energy Force as not even watching England’s Lucky win against Sweden made any Impact on my Serenity and I even at one Stage think I was Cheering them on but that may have been an Hallucination. Anyhow back on the Physical Plain for the moment I'm beginning to Feel Healthy for the first time in over a year and am very very Grateful for this Happy Development. I suppose that is another Massive Payoff from Daily Meditation and can be added to Emotional Balance, Lack Of Fear, Joy, Self Esteem, Security, Relaxation, Insight, Less Self Sabotage, Healthy Eating, Mindfulness, Tolerance, An Attitude Of Gratitude, and all round Good Vibes to name but a few. I Virtually Floated down here to the Internet Cafe on a Wave of Positive Energy supplied by one of those Monroe Institute CD's which by the way I can't Praise enough!

Slade - Slayed [320]

Glam Rock Main Stays released this Album in 1972 and it was one of only a Few Albums from the Glam Rock Scene that had Big Sucess in the USA. Accomplished Stuff and it has Outlasted many Albums from that period. So let's get our Platforms on and as Noddy would say ''Mama Weer All Crazee Now''

Bastard Landlord And Other Folk Songs!

Got my LUL Pension Statement this morning so I won’t be Starving in 2025 about the time Ireland will next Qualify for a Major Tournament on last night’s Performance. All I need to do is Survive the Slings and Arrows of the Present. I’m off today to try and Retrieve £700 that has been paid to my Landlord instead of to myself. I doubt it will be handed over so the good News is at the current Rate I will be about 2 Years ahead in my Rent. The Flipside is that as things are going to be really tight for the foreseeable future that Money was to pay for a Holiday in Ireland to see the Folks. So It’s Cabinet Reshuffle time and I’m going to pay for the Holiday when I get my last Pay Check on 30th of June which will leave me with the Sum Total of Fuck All. Then we will be out on a Limb…oh yes and quite frankly my Dear I couldn’t give a Damn!

That Petrol Emotion - Babble [256]

Formed out of the Remains of several Derry Bands including Bam Bam and the Undertones this 1987 album was given Lavish Reviews across the board and truely is excellent. Not sure why they missed out on the Stardom they deserved possibly their very Political Stance on their record sleeves. The back sleeve of Big Decision highlighted the use of Plastic Bullets by the British Army in Northern Ireland which had led to the Death [Murder] of 15 Civilians 8 of whom where Children.

Starbucks It Is Then!

Was out doin’ a bit of Gardening yesterday and really enjoyed the Physical Exercise though it was obvious I was well out of Shape but it had to be done as I envisage long Summer Evenings spend out there now that I’m becoming a Sociable Person again. Anyhow it was all done in the nick of time as on the way out the Front Today a place I rarely go I noticed that my 3ft High Prize Nettles where all dying. My Son Brendan reckoned that the Woman across the road had remarked to him about the Eyesore and that he thinks She put Weedkiller on them. As a reformed Angry Bastard I will look upon this as Neighbourly and not Interference and it saves me doing it myself…So alls good!
Let's see if Ireland can get a Point from Tonights Match with Spain..It's a very tall order!

For Better Or Better!

Just about getting into the swing of Living on a very limited Budget. It’s the Price that has to be paid in order to Escape from my last Job which was Killing my Will to Live. You can get used to lack of Money and Personally I consider it a Vital Skill in this Day and Age Especially with the direction the World is going. Sadly I Witnessed  a Programme recently about the Recession and was Horrified to see Men Crying over the state of their Finances. An Interesting point did arise and that was that the Majority of those Sobbing had also been left by their Partners due to their drop in Life Style. So I reckon it’s much easier to adapt to Low Income when Single allowing you Ultimately to be Free to opt out!

Japan - Oil On Canvas [224]

By the time this album had been released Japan had split up. A live album recorded in 1982 it has all the usual suspects and a few new tracks which where recorded in a studio. I was living in Lower Abbey Street [Dublin] at the time with my ex and my eldest son. My Employers had put us up in a Hotel famous as a meeting place for the IRA [IRB] in planning the Heroic 1916 Easter Rebellion.

Or somethin' loike dat anyway dis wee bit av Guff Cheered me up naw end after Sundays stoney buroke showing in de Football....Not bad eh! Tanya Donelly - Lovesongs For Underdogs

Truely i'm a sucker for Female Vocalists and Tanya Donelly is one of my all time favourites. Seen her in 2002? at either Shepherds Bush Empire? or Hammersmith Apollo? cant really remember where but she was sSuperb. Back tracking dig out her 'Belly'', ''Breeders'', Throwing Muses'' work and for god sake find 'This Mortal Coils'' cover of ''You and Your Sister'' with Tanya on Vocals.....Its an order and an other order dig out Chris Bells original version.

Mind Over Fecal Matter!

Possible Case of Psychosomatic Shits enabled me to see the game last night after all and on reflection I should have taken my chances even if it meant a serious risk of Touching Cloth rather than watching Irelands Dismal Performance against Croatia. The only consolation is that that’s the hard game out of the way and we only need to beat Spain and Italy to Progress in the Competition. I’m going to watch the other Matches regardless and would like to see more Spirit from the Team and at least go out Fighting.
I’m still Exploring the Spiritual Realm and have got myself some new sounds to Aid Meditation and this week I shall be giving the Gateway Experience Wave I Discovery Series a Listen. It’s Labeled as Hemi Sync which from what I can tell is another Type of Binaural Beat!

Stick To The Schedule!

Had a strange dream about the Meeting I’m doing the Talk at Tonight. It involved chairs and People appearing and disappearing repeatedly. When I thought the meeting was just about to start I looked round and everyone was gone, then they where back but the seating had all gone….etc etc….repeat when necessary. I asked someone was it always like this and he said yes. Anyhow I got Testier and Testier as the 20:00 Kick Off had long passed until at 20:45 Mike the Secretary asked me what my problem was and I Punched him in the Face. I was going to look in one of those Books for Deciphering Dreams but have decided that it’s just part of my reaction to the deep sense of Loss I feel at missing the Football. A Loss I hope which will not be reflected on the Pitch!

Bill Hicks - Arizona Bay

Few things in life are essential but listening to this CD is one of them. 17 years after the Great Mans Untimely Death this is still as good as comedy gets. Played it last night with my Youngest Son had us both in stitches. Truely genius and truely timeless and desperately missed. Makes me Ponder what Ireland would be like if Antrim and Down fell into the sea...we could call it Derry Bay

Tips To Defeat The French No.1!

Watched the Russians Demolish the Czech Republic last night and was mighty Impressed by a Young Man Called Arshavin and was Wondering if he was any Relation to a Piss Poor Lad of the same name who used to take Money under False Pretences at Arsenal. Enough Nostalgia as I just realised I won’t see the first Ireland game due to Bloody Recovery, I’m Secretary at NA Meeting 17:55 and doing the Share at the AA Meeting 20:00…….So No Soccer for me. Truth be told if my Mind, Body and Spirit was not fully Engaged in Recovery I wouldn’t be doing Service anywhere and the Football may have been Ignored as I’m Ashamed to say it has been before.

Recap….I’m Good, Really Good and it’s Game On!

Welcome To The Whole White World!

Its Euro Time at last and all the Focus is on the Polish Football Fans who have been discovered a bit late in the day to be made up mainly of Fascist Gangs. It appears to be a bit like the UK was in the 70’s with dodgy cloths thrown in for good measure. I feel a bit sad for the Polish People as I have had nothing but admiration for their Hard Working and Hard Drinking Lifestyle and that’s just the Girl I lived with for 3 years. Don’t know much about the Ukrainian People but they do look slightly Inbred if you don’t mind me saying. Anyway the threat should be quickly removed as the Poles are about the only Team I know who Capitulate even more and more Shamefully than the English. The Irish won’t be Capitulating…Fuck No!

alarm - electric folklore

Released in 1988 this Live Album was recorded in the USA. The Alarm never really reached their full potential after rubbing shoulders with U2 and many of the post New Wave Stars of the day they stalled and although keeping a loyal following have not hit the heights of "Where Were You Hiding When the Storm Broke?" and ''68 Guns''.
  1. Rescue Me 8:29
  2. Strength 6:45
  3. Rain In The Summertime 6:10
  4. Spirit Of '76 9:10
  5. Permanence In Change 5:33
  6. Blaze Of Glory

I Ain't Goin' Out Like That...I Ain't Goin' Out!

Seen a Guy up the High Street Yesterday Dressed in an Inflatable Electric Iron Outfit which had Recycle Now written on it. There was just his Little Face Visible which had a look of Deepest Despair on it, Luckily for him I didn’t have my Camera to Record the moment and share it with you here. Hopefully he will be there tomorrow and I’ll snap him then. Point of all this is my Pride would not let me do what he was doing I’d rather try my hand at Shoplifting or Bank Robbery than stand on the Street Dressed as an Iron. Also I thought that those who are into Recycling would have at least a Working Knowledge of the Psychological Effects and Trauma brought on by Humiliating someone in this way!

Grew up with Terry Halls music in his different incarnations ''Coventry Automatics'' ''The Specials'' ''Fun Boy Three'' then Colourfield and on to his Solo Career and rate all of it. This is the 2nd Colourfield album Deception it's a bit of a cobbled together affair as band members left and session musicians stepped in, but nevermind just give the song ''Miss Texas 1967'' a listen its got great vocals!

Emotional Indulgence!

Nothing much to Report from the Fringe of Society it’s just another day out of the Office for me. Although I may well have my Work cut out tonight at the Monthly Feelings Meeting of our Local AA Group. Hopefully as Secretary I can Focus the Sharing on the Subject Matter. Anyhow I’ve done my best by getting a Speaker who is a Long Time Sober but more importantly in the midst of Divorce so should be able to throw some light on Emotion. When She’s done I will briefly out line my position on the Topic… Just for Today Life is not being Dictated by Fear and Anger and I’ve an Abundance of Joy and Gratitude for my Lot. I’m hopeful that we’ll have a Positive Meeting and those Strays who insist on Hiding in what they Drank as to how they are will be a Small Minority. Let’s face it if you’re an Alcoholic/Addict/Foodie/Obsessive Compulsive/Liar/Gambler/Compulsive Debtor/Grey Sheeter/Shopping/Sex Addict or a combination of these you have a choice to either Identify and Process your Feelings in a Constructive Manner or they over time will get in the Driving Seat and Fuck You Right Up…..Amen!
