Long Ball To No One!

As I have Mastered the Art of being a Loner I guess it’s time to Embark on the Pain Filled Arena of Relationships both Platonic and Sexual with a bit of Luck. The amount of Love and Respect People show me has quite frankly not been met half way by me and today 3 AA Members I have never met delivered me a Beautiful 4 Seater Settee and refused to take even Petrol Money. In the Past I did these type of Deeds all the time and know it Enriches the Soul but somewhere along the line I became Detached from the Herd and have been Limping along as Lion Bait for too many Years.
The Subconscious Logic that has been Revealed through Meditation has been along the Lines of if I don’t Feel I can’t be Hurt which Works up to a Point. That Point would be my Boys who I Love to bits but would Prefer to use Words like Respect, Admire, Trust etc etc instead of the L word.
So don’t be too hard on me or my Subconscious as it has Weighed up the Loss of my Youngest Brother Brendan, the Disappearance of my Second Youngest Brother Eamonn, The Loss of my Second Son Kieran Patrick and then there’s the Loss of Ruth and I suppose We just decided to Shut Up Shop Emotionally.
Tomorrow I’m off to Ireland to try and Offer Love and Support to the Living and maybe continue on the Road to Healing!

Ronettes - Ronettes Feat Veronica

Circus Is Leaving Town!

Scott McKenzie has Died and his Legacy “San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)” will not be forgotten by yours truly as that Song always Reminds me of being a Child, so dig it out and give it a listen. On the Subject of Flowers the Dandelion Coffee Mission went well and turned out Easy to Accomplish. I dug the Roots, Washed them, Diced them, Roasted them [200 degrees] in the oven for about an hour and Ground them but the Jury is still out on the taste. All other Similar Projects like the Blackberry Jam Extravaganza will have to wait until I get back from Ireland as I need to get Organised for Thursdays Departure.
I’m off down to the Boneyard to say Hello to my Soul Sister Ruth who I still miss Every Day and then the Internet Café to Stock up on the Latest Music & Movies all Free to a Pirate like me!

Stephen Fretwell - Magpie

Described by Q Magazine as "Scunthorpe's Finest Export Ever". Fretwell described this as flattering but not something he actively encouraged. I don't know where Scunthorpe is but i recognise a great lyric as in

Is all we'll be left with anyway"

Going Back To My Roots!

I’ve always had a real Interest in Holistic and Natural Living and have a Diploma in Holistic Therapy, a HND in Health Therapies and a Degree in Health Promotion. Plus Gardening Skills, Food Preserving, Seed Collection, Foraging, Fishing and Actually Enjoy Waking up Outdoors in a Tent.  If you Add to those a Heart Felt Belief that when the Shit Hits the Fan which is Inevitable that Basic Skills are going too far out way the Skill Set of  for Example a Person in Media Studies or Perhaps a Chap in Marketing.
I Suppose Growing up in a War Zone helped Shape who I am and what I believe to be Important hence no X Factor, Soap Operas or Big Brother for me and the News is Filtered through my Cynical Eye to try and get to the Facts. I’m descent enough as a Person and made the Effort to go and Protest at the G20 in London against  Illegal Wars, Environmental Collapse, Capitalism and any Multitude of Worthy reasons which have not improved at all probably in Part Due to the less than 8,000 turn out of Protesters who bothered to make an Appearance in one of the Biggest Cities in the World.
So what’s all this Waffle Leading up to? God Knows! As all I know is that I have a lot of Free Time just now and am off to Fill a Couple of Hours Gathering Dandelion Roots to see if it can be made Simply enough into Coffee!

New Boots And Pantry’s!

Arsenal Yesterday had 70% of the Play in a Seriously 1 Sided Game and only Achieved a Draw which given it was the First game of the Season still doesn’t amount to Title Challenging Level. So a long Painful Campaign is my Prediction for the Gunners Fans this Year and Hopefully this Prediction will be as Useless as my Euro 2012 ones.
Also on a Sports Related Note Bradley Wiggins is out of my Good Book after getting Involved with Evolution Destroying X Factor.
Anyhow I got the Insight I was Looking for Yesterday so Expect much Less Manic Survival Strategies and Snare Buying but I will Stock up Some Food for Solid Reasons like lack of Spending Power and the Piss Poor State of the World Economy. All Round Top Insight Achieved Yesterday as I also Accepted I’ve been Running on Empty for Years so Hopefully I can Utilise some Deep Relaxation Practices into my Day to Enhance Meditation, Health and all Round Good Cheer!

Proclaimers - Sunshine On Leith

So the song " I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is known around the World, let's just say if i did not have a full time job being Irish i would volunteer to be Scottish on the strength of the song "Sunshine On Leith" on its own!
I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)

Loony Tunes!

One of my Boy’s has got Wind of my Survivalist Behaviors and Inquired if I had made the Soup Yesterday from things found along the roadside. I assured him that the Lentils, Onion, Peas, Stock, Chicken Breast and Chicken Soup had all been Store Bought but that I may have found the Baby Sweet Corn in a Field. He says he will be Monitoring the Situation but He’ll need to Sharpen up as this Morning He Signed for a Parcel containing 10 Rabbit Snares but didn’t Notice. By the way without a Mental Health Referral even I know the Snares were a Mistake but I was Bored and online and just Hit the Buy Now Button.
I’m out all Today in Blistering Heat Chilin’ and Meditating for a bit of Insight into what Exactly my Fears are at the Moment and by this Evening Hopefully have Exchanged them for Faith and Trust.
Let’s face it Even with a bit of Nonsense going on I’m still Elated at not Working and don’t Intend to Meditate too much on how I went somewhere that made me so Unhappy and Unwell for over 3 Years and will just stay Satisfied that it was a Cheap Lesson and it’s been Learned Well!

Beastie Boys - In Sound From Way Out

Hairless Bikers Cookbook!

Touched for a Lovely and more Importantly just now Free Settee and it’s just in time as my Arse is Broken from the Sofa Bed I have been using in the Living Room. So I’m nearing the End of my First Weeks Full Unemployment and have No Regrets about Leaving my Job and it looks like my Payoff is going to be better than I Expected but we will wait and see. Anyhow  in the meantime I’ve Shaved my Head so that by the time I go to Irland next Thursday it will have Grown back a bit as the Old Folks aren’t down with Skinheads and with that out of the way I’m Freed up to get the Bike out and Cycle in this Glorious Weather it don’t Cost nothing. I’ve Packed a Few Sarnies and 2 litres of Water and am going to Liberate a Small Bag of Baby Sweet Corns from a Field near here for a nice Meal later. My Bro Sean says that’s being Dishonest and I Assured him that the only Dishonesty I Cared about was that I didn’t Tell Myself I could Drink again.

All Coming Into Focus!

Out and about without my Reading Glasses so I'm Squinting at the Screen but Nevermind alls well as I've done a Meeting and had Lunch with Friends. during the Lunch I was trying to explain [Rationalise] how my Fears around Unemployment and lack of Moneyhad Morphed into me Reading Loads of Survival Guides and Visiting Weird and Wonderful Blogs. So far I have Amassed in my Survival Store a 3kg Bag of Pasta, a Jar of Peanut Butter and a Pair of Night Vision Binoculars. So I am a week nearer Self Sufficiency or Edging Ever Closer to being Sectioned!

I’m A Convert!

One Man’s Struggle to get a Piece of the Action or at Least a Piece of Free Software began quite well as I Downloaded it and took it Home where it worked Magically in Converting 3 PDF’s then Alarmingly and Out of the Blue the Following Popped up on the Screen. Thanks for using Free PDF to Word Converter! Now you can get a Free Registration. It's very easy to do just answer a simple math question.
Question: 392 - (824 x 830) + 623 x 929 = ?
What happened to the TV type Intelligence Test where you Phone in at an Outrageous Tariff for the chance of Winning a Massive Prize by answering a Mind Numbingly Inane Poser such as
Question: Which Of The Following Is an Ex England Soccer Player Adolf Hitler, Dame Shirley Bassey or David Beckham?
Anyway Relying on my Ungraded O Level Math’s and the Computers Calculator I Churned out an Answer which turned out to be only 50,000 out. Undeterred I Slapped that Question into the Google Search Bar and got the Correct Answer in 0:3 of a Second!
New Question Do I have too much Free Time on My Hands?

The Alternative Family Tree!

So Granny is Humping her Daughters Ex Boyfriend who in turn Murders the Grand Daughter and the Body is Hidden in a 2 Up 2 Down House which the Police Fail to Detect after 3 Searches of the Property. Forget the Usual Police Incompetence and Ponder if you will the Relationships involved as I can’t get my Head around some of it, perhaps I am Old Fashioned but even at a Casual Glance there’s Obviously something Deeply Disturbing at the Core of this Tragedy. If it turns out as it could well do [and I’ve made up my Mind already] that Good Old Gran Helped in the Hiding of Her Grand Daughters Body then We are really Trawling the Depths. Finally on the News today it Appears that the Social Services where meant to be Protecting this Child all along. Expect the Usual Horror Story to Emerge like in the Baby P Case where he had been brought  to a Social Service Office with His Cuts and Bruises Disguised by Chocolate Sauce and the Hapless C**t who Worked there Accepted the C**t’s who brought P’s Claims that he had just been to a Party and Failed to Notice that he had been Beaten to a Pulp.
Yes it makes Me Angry as I Love my Boys and no one not even Dad’s Mistress is going to change that!

Wanted Drunk Or Alive!

Missing!  One Sponsee answers to the name Anthony/Tony or “I Know”. Has not been seen since leaving home 8 Days Ago to do some Step Work. May have Returned to Previous Haunts and Behaviors in the Nags Head or Red Bull. Should not be Approached at any Costs as he is very likely to try and Off Load a Lifetimes Resentments and Fears on anyone in the Vicinity rather than put them on Paper.
That Reluctance to Recover has Freed me up for the Day and maybe I can Squeeze his Share into the Rich Tapestry that my Life is Becoming if you Overlook my Joblessness, Lack of Money, Lack of a Meaningful Relationship and my Endless Willingness to Abuse Others!

He Who Walks Behind The Rows!

Big Tidy up done and an Inventory of Tools and bits and Pieces and as I now have my Letter of Dismissal on Medical Grounds from my Work I appear to be Suffering from a certain degree of Fear about Money. It’s not like back in the Day when I would have been Panic Stricken at my Situation probably would have stayed in my much Loathed Job. No this is more Subtle as in Reading Survival Guides and Preparedness Manualsplus things like How To Survive The New World Order. Maybe I could Write one with a Title of “Build your own Waco Complete with Chicks and Guitar”. Jokes aside as the Fear is there and can be best Expressed by the Photo I took above and the Fact that I gained the Knowledge within the last 2Weeks of Exactly where to Access Free [or Stolen] Food and Water from the Surrounding Area………..Corn Feed is what the Americans say…I think!

Peas In Our Time!

It’s another Factor 50 Day for the Irishman and it’s been applied Liberally as by the time this is Posted I’ll have been Cycling about for at least  6 Hours. I took my Camera as I hope to get a Picture of a Tree full of Birds which I passed the other Day it was Freaky like something out of a Alfred Hitchcock Movie.
So I’m now Officially Unemployable sorry I mean Unemployed and intend to Hunker Down and see how long I can Evade a call into the Labour Exchange and before that Hope that I don’t get a Call to the Gestapo Doctor until after I have been to Ireland.
My Advice to anyone who isn’t Self Employed would be find away to get out of your Job and Learn some handy Survival Skills like how to Live Well on a Budget of £71 a Week. It can be done with Ease if you want that more than Pitching in to some Pointless Job where Wages and Conditions are being Hammered whilst demands on the Worker are being Increased Alarmingly. Resign until better Times and make yourself Useful by Growing Vegetables in your or someone else’s Garden!

Keeping A Cool Head!

I forgot my Bloody Memory Stick with todays Ramblings and Music on it so I've had to Improvise. Luckily I'm Feeling Super Smooth Today so Hopefully it will Work out OK!

slade - whatever happened to slade

Slade's popularity was waning as were their record sales. They recognized this (thus the album's title). By 1977 the glam movement had died, along with its founder Marc Bolan, frontman of T.Rex, who was killed in a car crash that year, and in a less literal sense, the careers of Mud, Gary Glitter and The Sweet also died. In Britain, where Slade had traditionally been most popular, the fashion of the day was now Punk Rock.

Going For Broke!

Blinding Meeting Last Night and another one at Lunch Time so I'm set up for today which by the way is the Day i get Retired off from Work on Medical Grounds. i know Intellectually that I should Care about this and have Lots of Fear around it but quite frankly I don't Care and have Zero Fear around the Situation. Anyhow I really Enjoyed my Cycling Yesterday and tomorrow I'm going to hit the Capital of Roman Britian St Albans and have a good Day out there. And hot off the Press Katie Taylor has Won Gold for Ireland in the Boxing and She's Welcome to come round my house and Punch My  Head in any time She wants!

mudhoney - five dollar bob's mock cooter stew EP

Bit of a collectors item from back in the day [1995] offering for your Listening Pleasure Seven exclusive or at least rare tracks. Its either a mix of Grunge and Country [sounds great to me] or as one Critic wrote "a dull, dopey mishmash of suburban-boy backwoodsiness" the choice is all yours. Finally i love strange covers and this qualifies with ease, when i look at the cover i wonder just how many people the unfortunate boy pictured managed to kill before being cornered in his bone filled basement and finally rounded up!

The Sporting Life!

I do like Waking up in the Morning Switching on the Telly and Watching People Exert themselves as the OIympics Trundles on. This Mornings Decathlon and 5,000m was Fine Entertainment which has left me Inspired enough to get the Bike out for the 1st time this year and go and Clock up some Mileage before Retiring for a Quick Blog and Coffee. Save some Energy for my Commitment later at AA’s Barnet Brigade and have a long time Friend coming to do the Talk. He’s a Good Man one who’s Honest whether what’s going on is Good, Bad, Indifferent, Euphoric or downright Piss Poor which Allows me the Freedom to do the Same. Plus there’s the Paddy’s Boxing tonight… Rock On!

Tom Robinson Band - TRB Two

What’s Goin’ On Marvin!

Watched a bit of the Keirin [no relation] Cycling Heats this Morning and was Mightily Impressed as I Doubt I have ever seen a more pointless and contrived Event in my Life. All of it just appeared Needless from the Riders being held up on their Bikes to the Seriously Ridiculous Man on his Little Motorbike and Beret who looked like Frank Spencer’s Dad Leading them Round the Track and Finally the only bit of Sport involved a 2 Lap time Trial.
Team GB has Excelled again in the Cycling plus the Boating and have Insured this by Massive Investment in both of these Catagories but as both Sports have Inane and needless extra Disciplines added on each Olympics and Medals Awarded for them the Gloss has well and Truly gone off both for me.
Can you Imagine if they Started Tinkering and Sub Catagorising the Elite Events like the 100m or 15,000m with maybe a Clown on Rollerskates Leading them out surely we would end up with It’s a Knockout.
Anyway proper Sport Tomorrow with the Boxing and Ireland have already Secured at least 2 Medals and will Hopefully increase that number without the Aid of any Additional Props or People in the Ring just Man to Man or Woman to Woman!

Is It Safe?

The Syrian Government appears to be Defecting at the same Rate my Friends did 5 years ago when I started Playing up. So I suppose of  -----  wants to get them back on Side he’s needs to Attend a lot of AA Meetings that’s what Worked for me and maybe Quit the Genocide.
I’m a bit Exhausted this Morning after Watching all of the 800m Qualifiers and Reveling in the Knowledge that Ireland have at least 2 Medals coming in the Boxing to bring their Medal Haul up to a Staggering 2.
It’s all Good Fun and I’m definitely going to Pitch up at the Men’s Marathon with my Trusty Ireland Flag even if there are no Paddy’s in the Race. You might see me outside Buck House Waving Frantically among the Legion of Butchers Aprons [google it] on Display.
I’m Good, I’m all Good with No Money and No Honey so when I get these things I’ll be Unbearable!

Supergrass - Supergrass Live At The BBC

I really Liked this Band from their opening single Punk Anthem "Caught By The Fuzz" to all the catchy Brit Pop tunes they did to the even earlier incarnation as "The Jennifers". One critic wrote about them early on that "These Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth.". Well i enjoyed them!

Fuck The System!

Got a Court Letter Yesterday for None Payment of Council Tax from when I was at Uni in 2008 and it made an already Bright Day even Brighter as I have no means of Payment but I have offered the Hounds £2 a Week for Eternity. Thank God this didn’t happen Last Year as I would have been Forced to Pay it all at once or have the Bayleaf come round. So I’ve sent them a Completed Attachment of Earnings at my New much Reduced Rate of £71 per week with Modest Outgoings Totaling £74.50p and await their Response.
How this Sorry Tale came to pass was when my Son Declan arrived from Ireland Aged 16 and after coming for the Summer decided to stay with me Permanently. In 2010 the Gougers started this ball rolling when they Informed me that as a Student I did not need to Pay Council Tax but on the arrival of my Son I became Liable for the whole 100% amount. So as a Single Parent Working 22 hours a Week and Attending Uni Full Time and Supporting a Son who had no Income I was Entitled to Bugger all as Opposed to say a Fat, Salad Dodging, Unwashed, Work Shy, Inbred Loafer who I have no doubt Received lots of Support.
I appealed their Decision so I guess this is the Answer!!

Life On Life’s Terms!

Just Dragged myself away from some Shit Hot Olympic Sport, it really is most Enjoyable but I have to Post this and Hopefully Meet a Sponsee to do some Step Work. He hasn’t contacted me so I may be Free to Lounge around Starbucks for a few hours with a Good Book and my Coma Inducing Abyss Binaural CD. I think I’ll ring round a few of the Long Hauls Folk of the Fellowships the one who Inspire me to Keep going and Avoid the more Flaky Elements. Good Help us but one of the Lad’s just before he Relapsed, an Event I seen coming Weeks before but unfortunately he didn’t had been showing real Dissatisfaction with his Lot. He Expressed a Desire to not be boring in his Recovery and wanted to be like Russell Brand I Burst that Bubble by pointing out to him in no uncertain terms “ You Wear a Suit and Work in an Office you C**t” and yes this Info was Passed on after the Relapse!
Groovy Baby!

It’s Friday I’m In Love!

Had a Good Scan of the Olympic Medal Table and can confirm that the Irish Team have Won Bugger all yet but Hope Springs Eternal as I did see a Couple of our Boxers Progressing to the last 16 of their weights.
I Feel like I’m a in a Combat Zone myself and for some light Reading I have had a look at the U.S Army Survival Manual. Having been Lured into a position where I have very little Money I intend to Survive and enjoy the Challenges that may arise. So I’m back Growing Vegetables  and Herbs plus I’ve Repaired my Bike and got  it Road Worthy, My more Catastrophising and Excitable Thoughts  look at the very Lean Times with no end in sight a lot of People are having and how I Willingly Joined them at the Bottom of the Barrel. So I’m Secure in the Knowledge that I have a Couple of Tents and Full Camping Kit and when I return from Ireland at the end of the Month I fully and Seriously intend to Stockpile a few Months Food just in case with nothing to Fancy just Rice, Pasta, Cans, Water etc etc….Let’s face it if the Shit Hits the Fan you don’t want to look in the Larder and find that it’s as Empty as the Ireland Trophy Cabinet!
One thing I picked up from the Survival Guide is that Dehydration may lead to Emotional Instability and am Wondering if my Whole Life’s Problems could have been Avoided by a Glass of Water!

It Doesn't Take A Genius!

I've been up at a Lunch Time AA Meeting with a Coffee after with my Mate Sean and just shooting the shit for an hour or so. It was Grand and I Feel Refreshed after Listening to a Good Solid Speaker who told it like it is. That being that nothing changes when you Stop Drinking unless you are Willing to put in some Serious Effort. Most Days at the moment I can get through without the need to upset anyone and just stay Chilled and Focused on Personal Recovery. Sad to say that in Hindsight i was taking my Resentment out on the World in General and I can see the Deep Sense of Relief in all those I come into Contact with that at least for Today they aren't going to be Subjected to any of my BullShit and General Bad Attitude. Unless that is I give them my Blog Address!

Sought Through Prayer And Medication!

So Accusations of Drug taking and Outraged Indignation from the Accused have Arisen at the AA Meeting…..Sorry I mean the Olympics and as the Squabbling goes on Unabated I begin to Wonder is this what Bill & Bob intended. Enough Banter as I Personally Feel there should be a Series of Events set aside for Steroid and Performance Enhancing Drug Cheats. Surely it must have crossed everyone’s mind and not just mine that it would be Great viewing to Witness just how fast a person can run before they Explode or what Type of Body would Arise from Rampant Steroid Abuse. The Ideas are Endless once you get Thinking along these lines and the Finale for me would be in the Male Category a Gold Medal for Synchronized Big Breasts and Smallest Penis Combination.
Maybe that’s too far in the Future but please can we introduce Random Drug Testing at AA and see Exactly what some of the Wilder Guys and Gals are Consuming!

Doing The Jimmy Swaggart Shuffle!

Had to get out Early today as I was Settling into a Comfortable Mode in front of the TV, just watching the Olympics. Managed to Snap out of it and have gone on a long Cross Country Trek from Barmet to Hendon Via Dollis Brook Open Space. It’s a Lovely Stretch of Green Belt Land in London far removed from the Bustle that Surrounds it. Ideal for a good 45 mins Walking Meditation and most Enjoyable. Then Once Spiritually Fit and Healed it’s Straight to an Internet Café for an afternoons Pilfering of Fine Music and Movies so that by this Evening I will Feel so Unspiritual that I’m guaranteed to need to do it all again Tomorrow…..It’s Sad really and not in the least bit Inspirational but at least it’s not as Soul Destroyingly Repetitive as going to Work!
